About Shawn Sloan
Shawn Sloan is an artist, rock climber, and backpacker living in Oakland, CA. A lifelong Californian, he earned his BFA from California College of Arts and Crafts and MFA degree in Painting and Drawing from California College of the Arts. When not making work in his studio, Shawn can be found rock climbing in Yosemite Valley, fly fishing at pristine high alpine lakes, or attempting to summit a peak in a remote section of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. He has completed wilderness first responder courses from National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and lead groups through remote wilderness areas. His work is inspired by his adventures traveling in the outdoors.
